On a hot Friday in June, we kicked off our 2025 summer wedding season under the sparkling Seattle sun aboard the MV Skansonia. This historic wooden ferry, permanently docked on North Lake Union and steeped in maritime charm, offered sweeping views of the skyline and Space Needle—an unforgettable setting for a love story as vibrant and genuine as Tatianah + Marlowe’s.
From the very beginning, the energy of the day was warm, laid-back, and full of joy. Instead of getting ready separately, Tatianah + Marlowe chose to spend the morning surrounded by their people—laughing, celebrating, and soaking up the moment together. When it came time for their first look, they arrived at the venue side by side, then slipped away to dress separately. Marlowe stunned in a rust-colored suit that popped against the Skansonia’s vintage wood, while Tatianah absolutely took our breath away in her gown. Their private vow exchange overlooking the bow of the ship—with the city skyline behind them—was one of the most moving moments of the day.
After the private vows, Marlowe surprised Tatianah with oversized cutouts of their two beloved cats—an unexpected and hilarious gesture that made her squeal with joy. These honorary guests added such a personal, playful touch to the day and had everyone smiling from ear to ear.
Their ceremony was set on the bow, framed by the glittering lake and sweeping city views. It was heartfelt and powerful. As part of their vows, they took a moment to acknowledge the significance of marrying during Pride Month, honoring the progress that made their union legally possible—and the generations that made it so.
The celebration that followed was equal parts emotional and electric. Tatianah’s little sister kicked off the reception with a custom performance of “Party in the USA,” which had everyone cheering. Marlowe’s sister Macee moved the room with a deeply sentimental speech, and her mom and dad followed with words that brought us all to tears. The boat’s cozy interior glowed with laughter and heartfelt connection.
And the fun didn’t stop there—guests played cornhole, rocked custom temporary tattoos, and dove into a guest-participation twist on the classic shoe game, where they had to guess which bride was the answer to each question.
As golden hour lit up the sky, we stole a quiet moment with the brides for portraits on the bow and upper deck—just the two of them, glowing in that late summer light. And as the dance floor picked up, Tatianah brought one more surprise: a live serenade of “Marry You” by Bruno Mars that brought the house down. They ended the night with a grand exit, surrounded by their favorite people.
Celebrating Tatianah + Marlowe during Pride Month, on such a meaningful day and at such a special place, felt incredibly full-circle for us. As queer photographers, we’re always honored to document love that’s joyful, resilient, and visible. Every single moment of their day was a reminder of why we do what we do—and why every love story deserves to be seen, celebrated, and remembered.
