Little Mountain Park is one of our favorite hidden gems in Mount Vernon, WA, and this session with Mars + Dillon reminded us exactly why. On a softly overcast day with golden sunbeams sneaking through the trees, we explored a new, untouched corner of the park—and it felt like stepping into a forest fairytale.

Mars + Dillon are as grounded and kind as they come—totally go-with-the-flow, which made every moment feel natural and fun. There’s an ease to their love, the kind that doesn’t need to say much to be felt deeply. Their dynamic is all about quiet strength and mutual trust, and it showed in the way they moved together, laughed together, and embraced every bit of forest magic with us.

The moment that will live rent-free in our memory forever? Katrina spotted a giant downed tree deep in the woods, the kind of spot that feels like a cinematic dream. Without skipping a beat, Mars + Dillon agreed to trek through thick brush to get there. And then—when we asked if they’d walk across another downed log over a pond? They didn’t hesitate for a second. That kind of adventurous spirit made the entire session unforgettable.

Visually, everything about their outfits worked beautifully—coordinated in tone but never overly matched, they struck that perfect balance that let their personalities shine. With the texture of the mossy woods, the dappled light, and their calm presence, every frame felt like storytelling at its best.

We always love when couples trust us enough to go off the beaten path, and Mars + Dillon gave us that and more. Getting to photograph in a part of Little Mountain we’d never seen before—and with a couple so open-hearted—was magic in every way. We’re counting down the days until their September wedding.
