There are some spring days that feel like pure magic—and this session with Daniela + Bela was exactly that. We met these two incredible humans at the Seattle LGBT Wedding Expo, where they won our engagement session giveaway, and wow are we lucky they did! They chose Kukutali Preserve in La Conner, WA—one of our all-time favorite spots—for their shoot, and it turned into a sunny, slightly cloud-kissed day full of laughter, love, and even a dip in the ocean.

From the start, Daniela + Bela brought this beautiful blend of playfulness and romance to their session. Their energy was magnetic—constant giggles, soft touches, and moments of quiet connection that made photographing them feel like a privilege. They weren’t just comfortable in front of the camera; they were beautifully at ease with each other and fully present in the moment.

One of our favorite parts of this session? Daniela + Bela knew from the start they wanted to get in the water—and we were all in. There's something so special about couples who embrace creativity and adventure to make their session truly theirs. That beach at the end of the Kukutali Preserve trail, with its peaceful, untamed beauty, was the perfect backdrop as they kicked off their shoes and stepped into the ocean together. It felt like the perfect exhale to an already joyful afternoon.

As a queer-owned business, we were especially honored to photograph Daniela + Bela’s love story. LGBTQIA+ visibility matters deeply to us, and sessions like this remind us why we do what we do. Every queer couple deserves to see their love reflected back with honesty, joy, and pride. These two radiate all of that—and more.

We had so much fun with these two and are so grateful for their warmth, humor, and openness. We can’t wait to see what their future holds—and hope we get to be part of it again soon.
