There’s something special about capturing seniors on the cusp of such a big transition—and for Chase, a cloudy afternoon in Burlington set the perfect tone for a session that felt grounded, honest, and full of quiet strength. We started on his family’s acreage, surrounded by the familiar comforts of home, before heading to Burlington-Edison High School where we finished the session in the wrestling gym—his second home and the place where he’s spent countless hours chasing big dreams.

Chase is a senior at Burlington-Edison High, and while he’s not one for big grins or flashy poses, there’s a grounded confidence to him that comes through in every frame. He’s serious and focused, with a quiet determination that really shines when he’s in his element—especially on the wrestling mat. We’ve had the honor of photographing Chase and his family before, and it’s been such a joy to watch his personality slowly unfold more each time. This session, captured in two of the most meaningful places in his world, really showed the heart of who he is.

Out on the family property, we kept things simple and natural. Chase wore his letterman jacket—a nod to the years of hard work and dedication behind him—and the cloudy light gave everything a soft, timeless feel. At the school, we shifted into the wrestling gym where Chase changed into his singlet and wrestling shoes. Being in that space, surrounded by the energy and memories of countless practices and matches, brought a noticeable shift. It was like watching him light up in his element—stoic, but fully at ease.

As photographers, we live for these in-between moments. For us, this session was a beautiful reminder of how photography can hold space for growth, change, and pride in where you’ve come from. We’re so proud of Chase and excited to see where his journey leads—whether on the mat, in a college engineering program, or wherever life takes him next.
