On a sunny April day, just as the Skagit Valley tulips were in full bloom, we met up with Brad + Audrey and their three littles—Grace, Gavin, and George—at Roozengaarde in Mount Vernon. The annual Tulip Festival painted the fields in vibrant color, and the energy of this family matched the joyful burst of spring around them.
Brad + Audrey are the kind of parents who take everything in stride, bringing humor and warmth to every moment. With three lively kiddos exploring the rainbow rows of tulips, the vibe was playful, a little chaotic, and full of laughter—the kind of session we absolutely love. Grace was immediately camera-ready, striking poses and showing off her sweet model spirit. The boys took a little longer to warm up, but once Gavin and George got going (especially in their matching shirts!), the smiles were unstoppable.
One of the standout moments of the day was watching George and Katrina form a quiet little connection. At one point, they wandered hand-in-hand through the tulips—a gentle, heart-melting moment amidst the buzz of the festival. We stuck mostly to the colorful fields, letting the flowers and sunlight do their magic, while capturing the natural moments between each family member.
This session was all about movement, color, and the beauty of everyday connection. It was such a joy to photograph Brad + Audrey and their trio of joyful explorers. We're already looking forward to the next chance we get to hang out with this awesome crew.
